PASTELS USA Special Exhibition opens Sunday, May 18
Previously
held in such venues as the Triton Museum in Santa Clara and the San Luis Obispo
Art Center, The Pastel Society of the West Coast-s Pastels USA: 22nd Annual
International Open Exhibition this year will be hosted at The Haggin Museum from
Sunday, May 18-Sunday, June 22.
The Pastel Society of the West Coast ( http://hagginmuseum.pmailus.com/pmailweb/ct?d=E--FvQAuAAUAAAF3AAHeGg
) is one of the oldest and largest pastel societies in the U.S., with a high
reputation among such groups. Its Annual International Open Exhibition attracts
several hundred entries from all over the United States, Europe, Canada and
Asia.
It is entered by some of the most elite pastel painters in the
country and, since only about 100 paintings are placed in the show, being
accepted is considered a worthy accomplishment. More than $11,000 will be
awarded to the creators of the winning paintings.
